I joined the Dubai British School Emirates Hills family in April 2021 & couldn’t have been happier.

Originally, I am from the West Midlands in England & studied at Staffordshire University, graduating with a BSc in Sports Studies. Following my degree, I went on to pursue a PGCE in Science. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a real passion for working with children. Even during my summer holidays whilst completing my studies, I ran summer clubs at a variety of schools that catered for children aged 8 to 16, including children with SEND. This provided the opportunity to plan fun but structured days & organise educational outings to places such as the museum & wildlife centres. As I began my teaching career, my desire for improving students’ development and knowledge has deepened with the enjoyment of the day-to-day life within education. Outside of work over the years, I have competed in Strongwoman in the UK, Australia, The Arnolds Sports Festival in America and right here in Dubai which was amazing. But most of all, I love to travel, watch movies & spend time with my family.

BEST TEACHING MOMENTS

What can I say? So far, there have been many highlights during my time here at DBS that it’s hard to choose just one. I really revel in the little things such as, seeing a student have the confidence to persevere with tasks they once deemed as difficult with support & then overcoming those challenges. But the one part that sticks out for me isn’t quite a teaching moment but watching the students graduate from DBS with a sense of pride. Knowing that they will go on and do well in the future with the desire to follow their aspirations.
