I am really excited to be joining the DBS Emirates Hill family this year. I have been a Key Stage 2 teacher for 11 years, holding a range of middle and senior leadership roles. Having qualified in my native South Wales, I moved to the UAE in 2017, teaching since then in an Outstanding Dubai-based school and I'm really looking forward to working in, and experiencing, another amazing school. I am passionate about teaching and learning. My biggest strength is developing independence and resilience within children and supporting children to unlock a new awareness of their potential. I will be taking up the position of Leader of Technology alongside my Year 6 teacher role at DBSEH: teaching and learning with technology is something I love. Each of my classes and I have loved pushing the boundaries of apps to remodify activities that were previously unthinkable without Edtech. As well as embedding technology, I enjoy teaching all subjects but I'm particularly fond of teaching Maths and Science, as well as any cross-curricular lessons where we can discuss 'what-if' situations and the positives, negatives, and just interesting impact of these hypothetical situations. When not in the classroom, you will find me involved with some kind of sport. I am currently captain of a Dubai-based football team, enjoy exploring the many hidden gems the UAE has to offer and I also like some of the extremer sports, including bungee jumping and skydiving! I look forward to getting involved in the Sports setup at DBS too.
