Library

At DBS Emirates Hills we have a Primary and Secondary Library for our students to enjoy.

Our Libraries are special spaces to inspire the love of reading.  With a vast variety of books to capture the imaginations of our students we have a mix for all ages, reading abilities and genres from the classic fairy tales, Harry Potter Novels to the latest releases from David Williams, Suzan Collins and Rick Riordan.

The Primary Library is located on the ground floor of the main building, beside the STEAM room.  Foundation and Primary Students, one lesson a week is dedicated to Library time when books can be changed, borrowed and read.   

During the Emirates Literature Festival, we are often lucky enough to have guest speakers come to the school and read to students in this very Library. 

There is also, a Secondary Library located on the first floor.  A quite space with books for reading, reference and research. Students can take books our bi-weekly and there is a dedicated reading time each Thursday for secondary students to relax and read after a busy week.

DBS EH use Accelerated Reader Scheme to monitor reading practice and progress . It helps our teachers guide kids to books that are on kids' individual reading levels. Students take short quizzes after reading a book to check if they've understood it. Also, we have DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read) across the school time to time every term during the academic year.
