Louise Pepper

Joining Dubai British School Emirates Hills in 2021 as Head of Mathematics, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to teach students from such varied backgrounds and lead the fantastic team of maths teachers that we have here. Living in Spain for five years previously, I love the hot, dry weather and being close to the sea so moving to Dubai was such an exciting opportunity. I enjoy swimming, reading and puzzles, alongside studying Spanish, and now Arabic also. I enjoy learning about the culture of a country and how it has evolved through its history, and I look forward to learning more about this fascinating country, new experiences and making lots of new friends.
Head of Maths

Jayson McLeod

I began teaching Mathematics in London in 2013 and taught in London for 5 years before moving to Dubai. I have experience of teaching all secondary Key Stages and I have held various positions of responsibility throughout my career including KS3 and Whole School Numeracy Coordinator. Mathematics has always been a passion of mine and I have a keen interest in Probability and Statistics. I enjoy taking part in sports such as football and badminton on a regular basis. Best Moment In Teaching During my time at DBS, I have especially enjoyed working with students outside of the classroom. Coaching our fantastic U16 football team has been one of the highlights where the students showed great sportsmanship and teamwork.

I completed my BA Hons in Accounting and Business finance from The University of West London and began my career in finance, working in London. I then decided to pursue my passion for education and completed my PGCE in Mathematics. It is such a pleasure to work in a school such as DBS, in the Mathematics Department due to the wonderful students, staff and parents. I moved to Dubai in 2007 and love living here with my Husband and three daughters. In my free time I enjoy Cooking, Pilates and Reading. Best Moment In Teaching When students receive their results and achieve beyond their expectations!

Ademola Okeowo

I joined DBS Emirates Hills in 2020 as the Head of the Maths Department. Prior to this, I taught in a North London school for 8 years. Mathematics has been a huge passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I really enjoy developing an appreciation of Mathematics in all students. The only thing to eclipse my passion for Maths is the enjoyment I get from working with my students. Helping them achieve and surpass their educational goals is hugely rewarding, but the self-confidence my students develop throughout the year by tackling challenging problems and overcoming them is what I truly enjoy the most. I’ve been a keen fan of basketball since my teenage years, playing in the national league in the UK at the U16 & U18 groups, and leading my university team in my final year through a very successful season. I’m also enjoy taking salsa lessons in my free time, and during the lockdown playing chess became a pleasurable pastime. Since moving to Dubai, I’ve enjoyed swimming on a regular basis. My best moment in teaching was when our first cohorts to experience the new (and more challenging) GCSE and A-Level specifications opened their exam results and were amazed with their results.
