As a child I grew up with my mother being a primary teacher, I watched her marking work and preparing worksheet for the children in her class.
I longed to be just like her! I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a teacher, just like my mom.
I often asked my mom if I could mark the children’s work and used the worksheets she had prepared to role play being a teacher with my brother and sister and of course, I was always the teacher!
Teaching is a great passion for me, and I feel privileged to be a Primary teacher at DBS. Dubai is a dynamic destination where I thankfully have the opportunity to make a difference to children from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Helping children to choose their pathway in life and follow their dreams and passions is truly a rewarding job.
Best Moment In Teaching
Working with children has given me the opportunity to enjoy so many different experiences with various year groups. When children are engaged and enjoying their learning, exploring their curiosity and inspiring each other, I like to stand back and relish the buzz that is created in the classroom. I have been lucky to witness children taking ownership over their learning and step into the role of a teacher, this is most rewarding to see as the compassion, skills and love for learning filters through on every child’s face.

I joined DBS in 2020 as a Class Teacher for 2D. Having worked for six years at the UK's most experienced children's day camp provider, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. After completing a Classics degree at the University of Exeter, I began my PGCE at University College London, ranked number 1 in the world for Education.

Born to a Danish father and a British mother, I have experienced snippets of different cultures' values from a young age. I was educated in Surrey before undertaking a Classics degree at the University of Exeter. It was at this time that I started working at the UK's most experienced children's day camp provider during my university holidays. This offered me invaluable experience of working with girls and boys aged 3-16 and fuelled my ambition to work with children full-time.
