Welcome to the Primary School at DBS Emirates Hills.

Our imaginative, engaging and creative Wow! Learning curriculum enables outstanding teaching and learning opportunities grounded within the National Curriculum for England and adapted for our unique environment. Children are equally challenged through cross-curricular themes such as ‘Paddington’ and ‘The Earth’s Lungs’ reflecting best practice from the UK as they are with Wow! Learning themes such as ‘Secrets of the Sands’ and ‘My Dubai’ which celebrate the exciting and innovative traditions, history and culture of the UAE.

Lessons are planned to incorporate a values-based learning approach which develops a sense of international-mindedness, empathy and a deep understanding of the world around them. DBS Primary children are both environmentally conscious and practical in their approach to problem-solving. Moral Education and Social Studies are embedded and integral to our curriculum. The flexibility of learning skills taught allows teachers to be responsive not only to current affairs but also the children’s interests, they have the trust to plan themes that are relevant to our students

Differentiated lessons pinpointing children's personal learning targets are identified throughout the curriculum; assessment is both formative and summative, allowing teachers to build up a comprehensive picture of the 'whole child'.

Our students are 6C learners; they are critical thinkers, communicators, cooperative, caring, creative and courageous in all they do. These learning skills are inherent in, and intrinsic to, the preparation of children for each stage of their academic careers and beyond.

Throughout all phases of education within the Primary School academic rigour married with opportunities to enable children to achieve their full potential in a wide range of creative and expressive subjects is valued. Wow! Learning ensures that all of our students are enthused by what they are learning, and our teachers are passionate about what they are teaching.
