Jayson McLeod

Being half welsh, half Italian and growing up in Belgium. I consider myself to be a true European. Growing up in the melting pot of Brussels, I understand the benefits of growing up in a multicultural city. The excellence of being surrounded by different languages and cultures. My family and I moved to Dubai in 2018 to have the same experiences as I did but with a better climate! As a young girl I was inspired by my mathematics teacher, I became passionate about mathematics and hope to inspire my students in the same way. Outside of school I am an avid learner, currently finishing my MSc in Applied Mathematics and learning the guitar. Best Moments In Teaching Teaching is a fulfilling occupation in many ways. I love forming relationships and having fun with the students that I teach. I enjoy seeing the progress students make from the beginning to the end and seeing their excited faces on results day as they discover their achievements. I see teaching as more of a vocation than a job and find small pleasures everyday that make the time and effort we put in as teachers all the more important.

I completed my BA Hons in Accounting and Business finance from The University of West London and began my career in finance, working in London. I then decided to pursue my passion for education and completed my PGCE in Mathematics. It is such a pleasure to work in a school such as DBS, in the Mathematics Department due to the wonderful students, staff and parents. I moved to Dubai in 2007 and love living here with my Husband and three daughters. In my free time I enjoy Cooking, Pilates and Reading.
