I have been teaching physics for over 25 years now, and I still enjoy everyday at work. I enjoy the interactions with the students during the lessons and every lesson there is something that brings a smile to my face. Someone understanding something for the first time or getting excited about learning or even just the humour and the discussion within the lessons.

I started teaching at Dubai British School in 2015. Prior to this I worked in three Dubai schools and two schools in the UK. DBS is my favourite school so far. It’s a friendly, warm and caring school. There is a genuine sense of belonging here for all the staff and the students. I have my own science lab which is wonderful, there’s lots of equipment so my students are able to do lots of practicals which are important in science and also there are lots of resources that the school has invested in that make it easier for me to teach.

Best Moment In Teaching

There are so many ‘best moments in teaching’ so it would be impossible to pick one however, I do have a very strong bond with my form class, 10B, and watching them grow up and have their own personal achievements is so satisfying. It is an honour to be able to shape and guide a young person and help them make the most of the skills and strengths they have.
