Transport
The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) have made changes to how school buses are to be used by schools. This initiative from the RTA is to make bus transportation for students safe, secure and affordable. As a result, it will no longer be legal or possible for parents to arrange shared transport by chartering their own minibus.
In these circumstances we are, therefore, leasing buses through an RTA approved company, Arab Falcon Bus Rental, and establishing a school bus service, open to all parents. All the buses used will be to the strictest RTA safety standards and the bus drivers will be authorised and trained by the RTA. A bus helper will travel with each vehicle.
Please click on the links to view the bus transportation schedule of fees for our school, an application form and the school’s Transport Policy. To register, complete the application form and return to Farah Shah, Arab Falcon, Transportation Manager at farah.shah@vsa.ae and copy Salma Darwazeh at sdarwazeh@dubaibritishschool.ae. Forms can be submitted until August 15, and up until this date we will be able to adjust routes. We will advise when Arab Falcon’s representatives will be available in the holidays to answer queries. New registrations should be sent directly to them.
Once the routes have been set parents will be directly invoiced by Arab Falcon and payment made to them directly. To confirm your child's place on the bus, payment for Term 1 must be received and all cheques cleared by Thursday August 27. Payments received after this date will result in the places pplied for being subject to availability.
Special arrangements will be made for Ramadan pick up and drop off times in September. These will change in October both in the mornings, and in the afternoons. We hope to be able to accommodate students who will need different return times after and Extra-Curricular Activity, but at this point we cannot guarantee this.
On signing the contract for next year, parents will deal directly with the bus company for all reservations and bus affairs.
