Parents are an important part of DBS, as partners in their children’s education as well as contributors to our school community. During drop-off and pick up, many stay to catch up with fellow parents, and occasionally liaise with the teachers. We are proud of our strong relationships with our parents which help DBS maintain its sense of community and family feel.
Our Parents and Friends Association (PFA) support the school, as well as parents who are new to the country, helping them feel welcome and guided.
Our DBS Parents and Friends Assocation (PFA) aims to support the school, raise funds and bring the community together through many activities. The PFA organises social functions and fundraising events, such as coffee mornings, the annual Festive Fair, Spring Fair, and May Ball, as well as car boot sales.
Our PFA second hand uniform sales have been very popular allowing parents to make use of uniforms that are no longer needed or have been outgrown.
Committee meetings are held on a monthly basis which all parents and friends are invited to be involved in. We value every members’ ideas and suggestions which have helped make the school what it is today.
Class representatives meet with the Head of Primary to discuss upcoming events, and ensure other parents are kept updated and informed throughout the school year. In Secondary, our students become our representatives as Prefects and the President who liaise with the Head of Secondary.
