Director of Educational Technology - Damien Griffiths
Graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Damien taught secondary Science, Physical Education and Outdoor Education for the next 4 years in a small country town in the south of Australia. In 1997 Damien decided to travel the world for one year; however he enjoyed England so much that he stayed there for eight years. Teaching Science and ICT (too wet for PE!), Damien ended up Head of ICT in The Heathland School London for five years, as well as managing school reports and SIMs. Now residing in Dubai, Damien first taught at The School of Research Science for almost 2 years and since 2006 at Dubai British School as PE, ICT and Science teacher, along with managing the school information management system.
Teacher of ICT - Mark Wood
Mark graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2003 with a BA Hons in Interactive Multimedia; he then completed his PGCE in Secondary ICT at Nottingham Trent University the following year. His first teaching post was at South Wolds Community School in Keyworth; after two years he moved on to Arnold Hill School where he became Second in Department, responsible for developing and managing the Key Stage 3 curriculum for ICT. Having responsibilities for Primary to Secondary transition, Mark jumped at the chance to further his professional development by accepting the position of ICT Specialist at Kings’ Dubai School. After almost two years in this role and transforming the IT and ICT department to a level deemed as ‘Outstanding’ by the KHDA, Mark decided to follow his true passion and go back in to secondary education and joins DBS, where he also coordinates Primary ICT.
