Head of Extended Learning - Claire Crawley
Claire Crawley had a very happy childhood in rural Shropshire, with her beloved pony, Nutcracker. Leaving the countryside she headed to London where Claire took a BEd hons teaching degree. Her first teaching post, back before computers, was in Harrow. Since then she has spent her teaching career co-ordinating various curriculum areas including ICT, PE, DT and serving in Senior Management Teams. For the last six years Claire has been a Special Needs (Extended Learning) Co-ordinator and also served as a Deputy Head. She has thoroughly enjoyed relocating to sunny Dubai, with her children Scott and Alice . They enjoy the beach, bouncing on the trampoline and camel spotting.
Teacher of Extended Learning - Valerie Jervis
Valerie began her career teaching early stages in schools in the north east of Scotland for five years, having gained her M.A (honours) in Psychology from Aberdeen University and a P.G.C.E. in Primary Education. She taught a group of teenagers at a residential school for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, for a year, prior to completing her M.Sc. in Educational Psychology. Valerie then worked as an Educational Psychologist for six years before moving to the U.S.A. and South Korea with her husband. After having her three children, she worked as a Year 1 teacher at Hyundai Foreigners School in Ulsan, South Korea. Upon moving to Dubai in 2006, she took up her present position.
