Qualifications and Experience

It is important that all candidates read and understand the General Information in our Careers section before applying. It is especially vital to ensure that you hold the correct qualifications and have the requisite experience. In the case of subject specialists, we would anticipate a minimum of two years' (and probably more) qualified teaching experience. All candidates must have completed 12 years of Primary and Secondary education.

Profile

We are looking for teachers who have taught successfully in Primary or Early Years Schools. While we are an English National Curriculum school, teachers who have taught in a PYP environment or who have suitable experience in high-quality national systems using English as their medium of instruction would be very welcome applicants. An exciting initiative in our primary school is the introduction of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

Class teaching at DBS represents an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and committed colleagues to join an already successful team. It would suit teachers who are either looking to continue a successful career pathway or experienced professionals seeking to resume teaching after a break from the classroom. Whatever the stage of your career, we are looking for certain qualities: you will love teaching and have the ability to inspire our students.

Whilst we are looking to recruit several outstanding teachers, an additional incentive allowance is available for a candidate able to lead the further development of ICT across the Primary school.

While the classroom would be the main focus for the successful candidates, an ability to make a significant contribution to our extra- curricular activities (ECA) programme would be a real advantage, perhaps in the field of outdoor education, environmental activities, service projects, sport, the arts or indeed in any activity or field of endeavour for which you have commitment and passion that can be communicated to students.
