In the Sixth Form our aim is to develop further intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, adaptability, powers of analysis, communication skills and independent work habits. Emphasis is placed on helping students cope with transition from the more structured environment of Key Stage 4 to the greater independence of the Sixth Form.
Our Sixth Formers our leading members of the school community, helping with the running of school and acting as role models for younger students.
The basis of the examined courses at DBS is the GCE (General Certificate of Education) Advanced (A) Level, which students study in two stages. In Year 12, students usually follow for Advanced Supplementary (AS) courses, three of which are then normally completed at A2 level in Year 13.
